Pangolins are truly unique creatures, often called "scaly anteaters" due to their full body armor of overlapping scales. These shy and nocturnal animals are the only mammals wholly covered in scales, which they use for protection. When threatened, they curl up into a tight ball, making them nearly impenetrable to predators.  

Sadly, this remarkable defense mechanism hasn't protected them from humans. Pangolins are the most trafficked mammal in the world, hunted for their meat and scales, which are falsely believed to have medicinal properties in some cultures. This has led to a devastating decline in all eight pangolin species, pushing them towards extinction.

Each painting in this series was created on handmade recycled paper and is approximately 6x8.5 inches. The proceeds from this project have the potential to raise $10,000 for wildlife conservation, specifically helping Endangered to Critical Endangered species.
