Walruses are the iconic tusked giants of the Arctic, easily recognized by their massive size and impressive whiskers. These blubbery behemoths spend most of their time in icy waters, using their sensitive whiskers to find clams and other tasty treats on the ocean floor. Their thick skin and blubber keep them warm in freezing temperatures, and their powerful tusks help them haul themselves out of the water and onto ice floes. Walruses are highly social animals, often congregating in large herds where they communicate with a chorus of grunts and whistles. Though they may seem clumsy on land, they are surprisingly agile in the water, using their flippered limbs to navigate the icy depths.
